Welcome Call Volunteer
Background
Families need Playskill's vital services now more than ever and to help us increase our supporter database and raise our profile in the local community, Playskill has recently launched a Door-to-Door supporter recruitment campaign. Our ultimate aim is for members of the local community to sign up to a monthly donation that will help create a consistent flow of reliable income for Playskill, thus ensuring services continue into the long-term future. Here’s how YOU can make a difference.
Outline of role
Following the successful recruitment of new donors who have recently signed up to support our local charity with a regular monthly donation, you will be required to undertake welcome calls using a web-based call centre type platform to thank them for signing up, re-confirm all their details and invite them to an upcoming welcome event.
This will be a rewarding role, speaking to members of the public which can be conducted from home, to an agreed and desirable flexible working pattern. Occasional travel to our sites based in Watford and Hemel Hempstead may be required for training purposes.
Essential skills and qualities
Fundraising experience is not required because full training will be provided and you will be supported by a friendly team of Fundraisers. However we are looking for someone who feels comfortable welcoming new supporters over the telephone and following a pre-determined script. Access to a PC is essential but you will NOT be required to use your own phone.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A confident communicator and listener
- Able to build rapport and empathise
- Enthusiastic and proactive
- A team player but also feels confident working independently
- IT literate
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
What's in it for you
- A chance to become part of a charity entering a new phase of its development
- A rewarding experience speaking to people newly enthused by Playskill
- The chance to gain experience alongside an established Fundraising team
- An opportunity to make a tangible contribution to supporting children and families with disabilities in Hertfordshire and raise awareness of the valuable work that Playskill does in the local community.
If this sounds like something you would like to get involved in and you can spare a few hours ad hoc to help Playskill, our Fundraising Team would love to hear from you. For further information, please contact sarahs@playskill.org or fundraiser@playskill.org
